Narsey Cotton

Born famous

Narsey Cotton owes its legacy to one of India’s most trusted cotton trading companies - Arjan Khimji & Co., that started its operations in 1905. The company was a pioneer in setting up a ginning and pressing unit. The foundation to imbibing quality, integrity and trust was laid early as the company began its exports foray by beginning its relationship with China and Japan, and later with Europe.

Very soon, under the stewardship of Narsey brothers-Bhawanji and Kalyanji, Arjan Khimji & Co. became the most respected and discerning choice of companies both overseas and in India by creating its core competencies built on honesty, the highest level of business ethics and uncompromising quality.

In India, its business relations flourished for decades with some of the most reputed textile mills like Mafatlal Group, Madura Coats, Rajapalayam Group, Lalbhai Group, and others.

The company’s only major diversification came many years later with a joint venture partnership with Sulzer Pumps Ltd for the manufacture of specialised pumps for hydrocarbon processing industry (HPI) and power sector. After establishing market leadership that lasted many years, Narsey’s divested its interest in Sulzer to concentrate solely on cotton trading.
